Soyuz TMA-08M arrivata sulla Stazione Spaziale Internazionale, profilo di missione velocissimo! I Video by NASA!

NEWS SPAZIO :- Vorrei che facessimo attenzione al fatto che il lancio di ieri sera della navetta Russa Soyuz TMA-08M ha segnato un nuovo traguardo nella storia dell'astronautica.

Per la prima volta infatti la Stazione Spaziale Internazionale è stata raggiunta solamente sei ore dopo il lancio.

Tutto merito di un nuovo profilo di missione veloce, reso possibile da aggiornamenti hardware e software della capsula Russa che hanno consentito un lancio ed un'inserzione in orbita del razzo vettore molto più precisi, più vicino e più in fase con la ISS, eliminando così la necessità di successive manovre di correzione-aggiustamento per inseguire la destinazione.

Soyuz TMA-08M in partenza per la Stazione Spaziale Internazionale con a bordo Expedition 35, guardiamo insieme la diretta video

NEWS SPAZIO :- Ne avevamo già parlato nelle scorse settimane. E' in partenza dal Cosmodromo di Baikonur in Kazakistan la missione della capsula Russa Soyuz TMA-08M, con l'obiettivo di portare sulla Stazione Spaziale Internazionale tre membri di Expedition 35/36, Chris Cassidy (NASA), Pavel Vinogradov ed Alexander Misurkin (Roscosmos).

La particolarità di questa missione è che è la prima con equipaggi a bordo ad utilizzare un nuovo profilo di missione veloce, che la porterà a raggiungere la ISS dopo appena 6 ore dal lancio, invece che dopo 2 giorni.

Assistiamo in diretta al lancio che avverrà tra poco, alle ore 22:43 (Ita), direttamente qui dal blog, con la diretta video NASA che inizierà alle ore 21:30.

Scienza back online su Marte, Curiosity nuovamente operativo al 100%

NEWS SPAZIO :- Torniamo brevemente su Marte, dove il Mars Science Laboratory Curiosity ha ripreso le attività scientifiche in seguito delle operazioni di ripristino dallo stato di Safe-mode in cui era stato precauzionalmente messo il 28 Febbraio scorso, dopo un errore riscontrato in un'area di memoria del computer principale (A-Side).

Il team di missione, dopo aver attivato il computer di backup (B-Side) ha rimesso il rover nello stato 'Active' e dopo i test del caso ha ripristinato tutte le funzionalità di Curiosity.

CRS-2, Dragon è tornata a casa, splashdown nell'Oceano pacifico, bellissimo il video della partenza dalla Stazione Spaziale Internazionale

NEWS SPAZIO :- E' terminata con successo CRS-2 (Cargo Resupply Services 2), la 2° missione spaziale commerciale di rifornimento alla Stazione Spaziale Internazionale operata dall'azienda privata SpaceX (Space Exploration Technologies) nell'ambito dei contratti NASA COTS (Commercial Orbital Transportation Services).

Pochi minuti fa, alle 18:34 ora Italiana, la capsula Dragon è ammarata nell'Oceano Pacifico, a largo di Baja California.

How to Redirect a Meeting Monopolizer By Helen Thamm

Ever been in a meeting where one person talks and talks and TALKs and either repeats her point over and over or talks around the subject? About the only thing those folks inspire from the rest of the team is a strong desire to "space out" or maybe even think about "checking out"!

If no one intervenes and helps the over talker "bottom line" what he says, (i.e. shorten up and focus to share his thoughts succinctly) he is likely to just keep on talking. Monopolizers don?t even seem to be in contact with whether anyone is paying attention as they tend to lack self awareness and how their behaviors make a negative impact on others. They often are not even aware they engage in long and sometimes boring monologues, rather than being part of healthy give and take interactions with their peers. As a result, meetings can often run overtime as well and important items on an agenda may not even have time to be addressed. Therefore it is really important for the facilitator (or a confident, assertive peer) to help redirect them, so all who wish to can give their input and feel valued.

Important Points to Remember to Effectively Help Redirect a Meeting Monopolizer

In order to help people with these issues to bottom line their ideas and in the process show respect for the rest of the team, it is important for the facilitator to be tactful and gentle, as these people tend to have sensitive egos. Here of some of the tips from facilitators who have successfully redirected over talkers:

1) Wait for the person to "take a breath" then ask her for clarification of a major point.
2) Compliment the person on a pertinent point he shared, then remind him of the need to move on with the agenda.
3) Thank the person for her ideas and then ask for the team?s feedback.
4) If the person tends to cut people off when he is excited to share a personal viewpoint, the facilitator in a calm voice can simply say "excuse me, I need to hear the rest of what ? was sharing". Hopefully soon a peer who was being cut off can become confident enough to say the "excuse me, I wasn?t finished with what I was sharing" himself or herself.
5) Use a time keeper to keep the meeting flowing from topic to topic covered in the agenda to help keep those who otherwise might tend to wander off topic more focused.
6) Use a round robin format for meetings. i.e. let the group know that you want to hear from each member of the group, allowing anyone who wishes to pass if she wishes.
7) Give positive feedback when a long-winded talker does "bottom line" what he has to say.

Facilitating meetings is always a bit of a challenge because you may have a diverse set of personalities in your group (The DISC Personality Profile which can be found online, is a great, brief test that can help a leader discern the needs and fears of each personality style, including the most talkative type, and therefore better engage each member of a team).To mold a really fantastic team, it is important to create an atmosphere of cooperation, not competition. Often meeting monopolizers want to be the focus of attention in order to prove how much they know, which may stem from their own belief in their need to prove their worth. Therefore always remember to be gentle when redirecting them, as their feelings tend to easily be hurt.

Intervene Quickly to Avoid Long-term Consequences

What is important as a leader, however, is to intervene quickly or the meeting monopolizer like the old Packman game gobblers will consume your whole meeting. Redirecting him/her shows respect for all members of the team and is important to help the leader build credibility. Showing respect for all members of a team is paramount for building a healthy workplace!

What's changing is the way we get there By Ron Sukenick

There is a fundamental desire in all of us to be in relationship, and to develop relationships that flourish. We stressed that the desire for building deeper relationships is a basic human need found in all of us.
This desire is a subject that is more popular today then any other time in history. There are hundreds of books written on relationships.
Television shows talk about it. Individuals talk about it. Counselors, therapists, and success coaches talk about it. In spite of the interest and awareness, and an almost over abundance of information regarding relationship, this greatest of all desires is largely unfulfilled.
How can that be? Perhaps with all this information, we are still uncertain or confused as to the vital factors that contribute to deepening relationship satisfaction.
The 5 R's of Relationship

Choosing and deepening relationships are interrelated. At each point in your relationship's, you and those to whom you relate may choose either to develop or not to develop your relationships further.
How do we make that choice? Of course, there are many ways. One person described her experience as jumping belly first into the water. For me, it's like going into a swimming pool and testing the water first;
Gingerly testing the water with toes, feet, and then slowly edging into the water. I temper my approach into the water with caution depending on whether it is a warm day in June versus a hot day in July. If the sun is shining or if it is overcast, we may approach the water differently.
The same is true in relationship. We continuously feel our way along in the meeting with another. We test the temperature, gauging the mutuality and connection, and then step back to assess how it feels for us, and whether the other person or persons have a reciprocal response. A multitude of factors in our environment are considered in going forward. Sometimes, no holds barred, we jump right in!
We offer the following five R's to throw into the mix of discussion around this very critical topic: Rewardingness, Reciprocity, Rules, Resourceful, and Relationshift.
Rewardingness

Webster defines rewarding as a sense of reward or worthwhile return. We are building on this definition by defining rewardingness as an ongoing exchange and flow based on mutual benefit for all. This exchange may be in providing services or products, or sharing learning, contacts, or resources.
There exists a fundamental psychological principle that people are more likely to repeat behaviors that have rewarding consequences for them than those that do not. Relationships are likely to deepen if partners can increase the range and depth of the mutual rewards they receive from one another, and if they are able to sustain a high level of mutual trust and benefits.
The Relationship provides joyful experiences along the way that evoke from us and from others. This is a reward in of itself.
Phil Black, a student, writer, and teacher of Gestalt Psychotherapy poses the rhetorical question "when all goals are close to equal, what determines who we remain in relationship with towards these outcomes, whether it is business or pleasure? It is the relationship itself that determines this decision-the ease and the pleasure derived. In the end, there must be joy: a laugh, a smile, or we will not find satisfaction, and we will not stay with or return to. We capture his remark and say yes, it is the reward of the relationship that keep us involved.

Reciprocity - Rules - Resourcefulness - Relationshift

Webster defines reciprocity as a corresponding and complementary exchange; the quality or state of being reciprocal. Through mutual dependence, action or influence, a mutual exchange of privileges takes place. This definition fits well with the underlying intention that is inherent to a relationship focus. Most long standing relationships are grounded in some form of reciprocity in the giving and receiving of rewards. Cunningham and Antill (1981) observe "It is indisputable that most human relationships are based on considerations of equity and exchange." Sharing this view of reciprocity as a joint responsibility enhances and deepens the relationship and the connection. Most of us are familiar with the barter system as it relates to goods or services, but few of us think of it in terms of relationship building.
Rules are defined by Webster's New World Dictionary as an established regulation or guide for conduct. The definition for the purpose of this book is to reinforce that each of us brings rules to the relationship based on many personal factors and that rules also emerge in relationship. The personal factors, to name a few, may include personality characteristics, boundary preferences, time availability or urgency, level of experience, geographical or global factors, comfort level, life focus, or monetary needs/constraints. The rules that emerge in relationship are based on the reason for the relationship, the length of the relationship, the level of established trust, and the degree of confidence that exists. Rules constantly change as the relationship changes. While the rules may become formal or contractual, they are often informal. These relationship rules provide guidelines and clarify expectations for your own and your partner's behavior. Remembering to look at these rules from time to time helps us to uncover whether the relationship rule continues to serve us well, or whether suspending or replacing it would serve the relationship better.
Webster defines resource as a source of information or expertise; a source of supply or support. resourcefulness is the ability to effectively and efficiently respond to problems and determine the resources that are important (people, technology, material, services, time, et cetera.) Resourcefully responding to the need in the moment, calls for attention to ongoing reemerging needs. This constant reevaluation helps us answer the question what is needed now; and the ongoing accumulation of knowledge, skills, and a large network of contacts helps us become more resourceful in relationship.
The spirit of the word relationshift is that a relationship never really ends; it simply flows to something else--a relationshift, becoming relevant again when time, opportunity and a mutual focus reemerges. An Oxford dictionary points to the word relevance derived from the French word relief as to lift up, to relieve. Oxford offers the synonyms aiding, assisting and helping. Webster's definition is as relating to the matter under consideration; pertinence. We bring these two words together-relevance and relationship, and further expand the definition to consider the questions who, why, when, where, and how. We have changing needs and we need to ask a host of questions as we go forward in relationship.
Paying attention to relevance in a given situation will keep us on target toward developing that which aligns to what is most important to self, and most important to the other as well. In short, relevance is constantly changing. That is the very reason attention to the shift taking place in relationship is important. While the relevance of the relationship is changing in the present, it is also imperative for all of us to understand that relationships, as a whole, always have been and always will be shifting! A collaboration may end now, but may come back again twenty years from now. Relevance emerges, if you will, around a common goal. Developing a meaningful and quality relationship is the lifeblood of taking your personal and professional relationships to the next level--lifting up and helping others along the way. When we look at a relationship with these eyes, we see that we can easily pick up again as we move forward in our personal and professional life.
The process of recognizing the transformation of a relationship to something else is one of the most liberating realizations an individual can experience- freeing self up to letting go and moving on while recreating a relationship vision with the same person. In one's personal and professional life this allows for a natural transformation of relationship.

Detach from Drama - drama just sucks up your life force - your energy and it makes you lose focus on what is truly important to you. If you are surrounded by a lot of drama - ask yourself - what within me is ready to die to all this so that I can actually create something beautiful, sustainable and transferable that will serve not only myself but also the people I am here to serve and perhaps even future generations. How I Built Self Confidence By James Bendure

Cultivating self confidence comes instantly to a few people, if you're like me though and aren't one of those lucky ones, then you have to set a goal and obtain a program to reach it to have more self confidence. Luckily for us, self confidence is know how that you can learn to expand just like riding a bicycle or driving a car or truck.

So, your goal was to be able to drive a car/truck and to go where ever you wish to. The very first time you got in the driver seat was probably one of the most overwhelming but exciting time. But to drive at full speed or to merge into lanes, first you have to be taught how to drive on surface streets. To break it down, one of the 1st step to learning to drive anywhere would be learning about the functions of a car. You have to know what gear you have to be in. Then, the first time you drive might be in an big parking lot where there aren't a lot of cars around that you may run into. Then as you get more confidence behind the wheel, you can begin drive on little streets, then on bigger streets with other people on the streets. After spending more time driving a car you will certainly attain more confidence in driving and will be able to drive at freeway speed on the road.

Developing self confidence in public speaking or in dating or in performing in front of people is the same. Come up with a list of action items to build your self confidence.

The goal of self confidence in dating:To build dating confidence: Begin with talking. Whoever you meet during the day, talk to them. The guy at the bus stop. The point is to get used to talking to the opposite sex, just say hello and ask how their day is going. Go to a group event with that special someone. Group events make it less unnerving to be with your date. Double dates may be the next step. This is a more private setting where it feels more like a date instead of hanging out with friends. You can get used to dating this person. Going to more dates with give you confidence with dating. They will give you positive feedback and it will bolster your self confidence. Ask them for suggestions to help you in the future. They usually have had a few drinks and/or are in a sociable mood. There is less emotional stress performing in front of them. Find a local bar and get a gig there. This is a larger group of people to perform for. But since, it is a bar or restaurant, they are not all only watching you, making it less stressful. With many of these performances in your resume, you will be ready to confidently perform.

Other strategies to consider to build self confidence:

Learn from you failures. Be assertive. Don't think you are not good enough. Don't worry about what others think. Learn to sell something.

Fortunately, self confidence is a craft that you can learn to change just like riding a bike or driving a car / truck.

The first time you taught yourself to ride a bicycle, that was your goal and the first step towards that goal would have been to start with a tricycle. You have to know that you are able to pedal and to travel on a vehicle. Next is to try a bicycle with training wheels. Now, you are moving closer to your end goal but with a little built-in help so you do not fall over. Next thing to try is to have someone hold you upright on the bicycle with out the training wheels. After lots of practice, you will finally learn to ride the bicycle without any help at all.

Having self confidence in other things is the same. Set your goal and develop a plan and action items to achieve that goal.

The goal of self confidence in dating:To build dating confidence: Begin with talking. Talk to everyone you deal with during your day. The guy at the bus stop. Make eye contact and say hi, get used to speaking to the opposite sex. Try hanging out with that special person at a group event. It will be much less intimidating for both of you when you are just doing something with the whole group. Now, try some double dates. This is a more private setting where it feels more like a date. You can get used to dating this person. When you have more confidence with double dates, you can then go on dates by yourselves. They will give you positive feedback and it will cultivate your self confidence. You can also ask them for advice to build on your knowledge and be able to perform with even more confidence. These people usually have had a few drinks and are in a jovial mood. There is less emotional stress performing in front of them. After that, you can try to find an opening at a local club. Now, you can perform in front of people that are looking for food and entertainment. But since, it is a tavern or restaurant, they are not all only watching you, making it less intimidating. With many of these performances behind you, you will achieve self confidence.

Here are some other quick tips to have self confidence:

Learn from you failures.
Be assertive.
Reward yourself whenever you succeed.
Don't worry about what others think.
Practice good hygiene.

Success And Happiness On "The Road Not Taken" By Thomas Gunter

Set your goals high as journey down the road to success. Raise the bar when you reach a goal and raise it even higher when you reach the next. Never give up! Remember it is your right to be wrong, because if you do you will lose the ability to learn new things and move forward. One who does not make mistake probably is doing nothing anyway. You cannot be a success without making a few mistakes along the way. Learn from your mistakes and try not to repeat them.

What is success? Is it someone who spent their life working 60 to 80 hours a week, living in airports and hotels, as they fight their way up the corporate ladder to VP of Candy Company? He would probably consider himself more successful than the guy who owned the local garage. You know the guy that spends his nights at home having dinner with his family, weekends and spare time playing with his kids and working on his hobbies, Could it be the local garage owner who goes home at night and eats his meals with the family and helps the kids with their home work could be more happier and healthier? Ultimately, it is up to each person to decide what success means to them, it is important that everyone be mindful of the decision they are making or planning to make.

Each one of us has to choose which road in life to take, with each different road come a different adventure, a different successful story and a different love story. Be careful which road you take make sure it is the right one for you.

Remember I said you have the right to be wrong? Yes you do, you are going to make a few mistakes along the way but the earlier in life you can figure out what your mistakes and weaknesses are the sooner you can move forward and be more successful and happy with every aspect of life. Take charge of your life if you want to be successful you have to be happy. Without happiness wealth has very little or no meaning.

Don?t be afraid to change your mind, what is right for someone else may not be right for you. We are all unique and different individuals; everyone must custom tailor their own life if they want to be happy and successful.

Myself *"I took the road less traveled" and like the poem said "That has made all the difference". Good luck my friends in making the right choice this is where it gets tough. Taking the road less traveled was a very hard decision for me with so many roads to choose from. Many of those roads were quite inviting but many were dead ends leading to nowhere. Once I made the right choice I never looked back except to measure my successes and failures. From there I set my sails and my goals to a new life with new horizons. For you the road most travel may be right for you, like I said we are all different. We see, we feel and we do things different so don't be judgmental of the person who sees it differently than you.

A man who also took "The Road Not Taken" was one of the most successful business men in the business world; he was the late Steven Paul, Jobs better known as "Steve" Jobs, co-founded of Apple Incorporated. Steve Jobs was a household name and American business legend in the world of success. He helped revolutionized the world as we know it today with his contributions as a designer, inventor and entrepreneur in the world of communications and computers technology.

I will leave you with that you may want to consider using on your road to success.

Steve had a set of principles he lived by I would like to share with you.

1. Do what you love.
2. Put a dent in the universe.
3. Make connections.
4. Say no to 1,000 things.
5. Create insanely different experiences.
6. Master the message.

NEWS SPAZIO :- Ritorniamo a parlare della missione del telescopio spaziale Europeo Planck, lanciato nel Maggio 2009 ed in orbita intorno al punto Lagrangiano L2 dal Luglio 2009. La sua missione principale è studiare le origini dell'Universo.

Dragon, tra qualche giorno la fine della missione CRS-2

NEWS SPAZIO :- Arrivata sulla Stazione Spaziale Internazionale Domenica 3 Marzo la navetta commerciale Dragon si appresta a terminare la missione CRS-2, la 2° di rifornimento alla ISS operata da un'azienda privata (SpaceX, Space Exploration Technologies).

Lunedì prossimo infatti Dragon si sgancerà dalla Stazione e farà ritorno sulla Terra ammarando nell'Oceano Pacifico. Porterà con sé oltre a materiale non più utile per la ISS anche equipaggiamenti e materiale scientifici.

AGGIORNAMENTO
Il rientro di Dragon è stato rimandato a Martedì 26 a causa di cattive previsioni meteo in prossimità del punto di splashdown nell'Oceano Pacifico.

La diretta video NASA avrà inizio a partire dalle ore 10:00 (ita).

Have You Ever... ? By Amethyst Wyldfyre

Have you ever received a BIG VISION? An inspiration from Spirit that you felt compelled to bring into fruition? Have you ever worked really hard to create something beautiful? Have you ever poured your heart and soul into something that you were really deeply passionate about? Have you ever failed?

What happens when you fail? What happens when you feel like you are quite literally at the end of your rope? When you feel like you've risked it all and you are about to lose it? What do you think this does to your soul, to your Spirit, to your capacity for joy and play, spontaneity and lightness of being? What happens to your Spirit when all that you have worked for is suddenly and mysteriously removed from your grasp?

Letting go and surrendering is probably the most challenging thing that can be asked of us. Life is such a paradox - work towards your goals and dreams! Take action!! Do what you are called to do!! Then let go, surrender, release, and say goodbye. Sometimes you just don't know whether you are coming or going.

7 - I can feel (emotionally and physically)

That's enough for now - I could make the list go on and on. I was feeling sad and discouraged when I started this post - but now - just taking the time to re-focus I'm feeling so much better. I have a big event that I've been working really diligently on all summer that's happening in a few weeks - I'm at another speedbump in the road on the event - no one seems to be interested. I have to decide - do I keep spending money on creating something that no one wants? Am I not being patient enough? Have I made a big mistake in putting almost all my eggs in this one basket? Could I, should I do something else? Have I strayed from my path and come to a dead end?

Let's get back to gratitude shall we? One of the things I am really grateful for is that I've been blessed to work with some amazing people to shift their own patterns of behavior and to reclaim a clear vision of what their next steps are on their own personal path. Whether it's a path of entrepreneurship where they are taking their passion out into the world in greater and more authentic ways or a decision to let their gifts shine through in other ways - the people who I've been blessed to serve have always brought such brilliance, courage and beauty into my life. To be a sacred witness is a holy thing. Another thing that I'm grateful for.

Awaken The Star Within You By Linda Cattelan

Years ago I read a great book called "How to be a Star at Work" by Robert E. Kelley. This book became and continues to be one of the "100 Best Business Books of All Time" and the "#1 Career Book" ranked by The New York Daily News. The author makes the argument that "stars are made, not born". This is terrific news for anyone who is looking for ways to become a star at work.

Based on Kelley?s book, there are 9 breakthrough strategies you need to succeed. Here are his strategies and some of his ideas as well as my thoughts on how to awaken the star within you:

1. Take initiative. Look for opportunities to set yourself apart from others. Many employees don?t take initiative. It?s too much work, they are too busy doing their job or they have become complacent. High performers go the extra mile consistently. Initiative is what many employers and recruiters look for in new hires, yet it is so rare to find in the workplace. Take initiative by taking on additional responsibility above and beyond your current job description. Look for ways to help coworkers or the department with specific goals or projects. Don?t be afraid to take some risks by taking initiative.

2. Become a good networker. It is said that we are only 4-5 people away from anything we ever want to be, do or have. A good network can help you fill in the gaps. You don?t know everything. But if you have a good network of people to draw on, you can usually find someone in your network to help you, or at least someone who knows a person that can help you.

3. Excel at self-management. Self-management isn?t about being super organized. It?s about evaluating which activities are important vs unimportant and then balancing those against the urgent vs not urgent. It?s about taking control over your own career path by developing a plan and connecting yourself to the work you most enjoy and that benefits the company. Stars figure out how to leverage their talents and add value to their organizations. Increasing personal effectiveness and efficiency is important.

4. Build perspective. I have a metaphor I love using with my clients around gaining more perspective. I have them think about a hockey game in an arena. As the hockey player you are focused on moving the puck, passing the puck, scoring, etc. The action is quick and very narrowly focused. The game moves quickly. Removing yourself from the player position to the coach position on the sidelines, you are able to gain a broader perspective of what is going on in the game. The game slows down, the view is broader and you are able to think more strategically about what should be done. Now moving to an observer position high in the stands, the game slows down even further. You are able to gain even more perspective as you can see not only the game and the coaching but also the statistics and anything else going on in the periphery. Much greater perspective and a much bigger viewpoint. As you awaken your star power, gain perspective on not just what you do, but what is going on around you and how that impacts your job, department and the company as a whole.

5. Build followership. Followership focuses on relationships you have with leaders and people who have power and authority over you. To be a good follower, you need to know how to lead yourself. Good followers have focus, commitment and build competence and credibility as a way of influencing others in the workplace. They maintain an honest conscience and a great deal of integrity. Their own ego is managed and controlled in order to work cooperatively with leaders.

6. Be a leader. Not just with people you formally lead already. Be a leader amongst your peers and colleagues as well as others. As a leader amongst your peers, you should look to be respected for your knowledge, expertise and proven judgment. You especially want their respect in the area of people-skills. Demonstrate that you care about people and your colleagues.

7. Be a team player. As a strong team player you can contribute by making sure the team knows and understands its purpose, gets the team?s job done and by paying attention and contributing to the group dynamics in a constructive and positive way.

8. Increase your organizational savvy. According to Kelley organizational savvy is defined as: "the ability to manage competing workplace interests to promote an idea, resolve conflicts, and most important to achieve a goal." The organization can be a political minefield so it?s important to be savvy. Find an organizational mentor who can help you maneuver through the organization. Build and nurture solid relationships and increase your personal credibility.

9. Become effective at persuasion. Impact and influence skills are key to getting to desired outcomes. It?s important to understand your audience and tailor your communication to them. Remember resistance is a sign that you haven?t built enough rapport.

Dopo aver determinato la prima evidenza che nel sottosuolo del Pianeta Rosso vi erano le condizioni per sostenere la vita (almeno in formato microbico), Curiosity ha adesso individuato minerali portati dall'acqua in superficie, in rocce vicine allo stesso sito 'John Klein' (regione 'Yellowknife Bay') in cui sono state effettuate le perforazioni, suggerendo così che le condizioni di abitabilità riscontrate possano estendersi a ben oltre il luogo di scavo.

Reading Body Language Gestures By Paul Harrison

Those wanting to learn to read body language would do well to consider how much they already, innately, know about body language. Take a gander at this list of the most common body language gestures and you?ll find that you know more about body language than you thought.

The Most Common Body Language Gestures Leaning Forward: Let?s start with an extremely simple body language gesture. Leaning forwards is the universal sign of interest. If you?re talking to someone and they lean forward, you know they?re listening to you.

Leg over Chair Arm: A person witting with their leg over a chair arm is showing indifference. When talking to someone, if they do this it means they?re not interested.

Head Shake: Of course, you already know that shaking your head means "no." But did you know that if you speak while shaking your head, your listener is more likely to disagree with you (that?s right; you shake your head, they disagree).

Nodding your Head: Nodding your head is a sign of agreement, but more than this, if while you are the one talking you nod your head, your listener is more likely to agree with you. Weird.

Holding Hands Behind Head: A person holding their hands interlocked behind their head is showing that they feel superior. It?s a classic sign of arrogance. Don?t do this, it will make people dislike you.

Chair Straddling: When people straddle chairs they are showing aggression. They use the front of the chair to protect their own body while they try to dominate a conversation. This definitely is not good social etiquette!

Legs Spread: When a guy stands with his legs spread he is deliberately showing strength and dominance. This is a classic body language gesture used by alleged "alpha males."

Sucking a Pen: Sucking a pen can only mean one thing; insecurity.

Tucking head into Shoulders: Another sign of insecurity and fear, we tuck our head into our shoulders when we feel worried or concerned.

These are some of the most common body language gestures and you likely knew a lot of their meanings already. In other words, you already have an intuitive ability to read people?s body language. Trust your gut instinct when watching people: what your instinct tells you is usually true.

The world of relationship is like a Kaleidoscope By Ron Sukenick

When we fundamentally understand that we have a multitude of considerations that impact how we are in relationship, our view of change and the importance of change is magnified.

Let?s take a few minutes and communicate about relationships and change. When you were a youngster, did you enjoy looking into a Kaleidoscope?

Were you amazed at the infinite varieties of colors and patterns that evolved as it turned in your hand? Did you ever turn it so quickly that you did not have a chance to fully appreciate what you were watching because things were changing so quickly in the little viewer?

The changes in the viewer pale in comparison to the changes experienced in the last decade--and the changes we will experience in the years to come.

There was very little to think about when turning that little Kaleidoscope: just look and enjoy. If you view the world of relationship as a Kaleidoscope, you will see change. Rather than standing there mesmerized or memorizing the colors and patterns as if you can keep things the same, imagine what it might be like to be the colors.

For openers, think about every second of your life, every minute, every day, being different from the preceding second, minute, or day. No two interactions or opportunities are the same, just as the patterns in the Kaleidoscope are never the same. Changes are inevitable--in behavior, in life patterns, in your knowledge base, in your habits, and in your relationships. We are not the same person we were even moments ago. People change. Look around you. Are there new people in your life that were not there a month ago, six months ago, last year? Get to know people around you, and get involved with them. Don?t just observe the changes passively, as if you are looking into a viewer. Be a part of them. Get to know people you come into contact with, what they do, what makes them tick. Become interested in them and how you can help them. They?ll do the same for you and you?ll enjoy life more.

Technology changes. Are you still using the same equipment as one, two, five years ago? Not very likely. And the equipment you are now using will become obsolete in the near future. Further more, staying abreast of the technological changes and discussing preferred communication tools with your partner is key in developing a collaborative relationship. Leadership techniques change. When was the last time you picked up and read a management book for insight about new management and leadership practices?

An understanding of the changing needs of today?s workforce (that?s all of us!) will help you be more progressive and able to meet and partner with others within or outside your organization.

Economic factors, urgency, people?s values, technology, and relationship management: all changing everyday, truly a Kaleidoscope. You can become a part of the Kaleidoscope--get inside the viewer--and be the one who determines the next pattern, if you make up your mind to.

Declare your Interdependence and Cooperation By Ron Sukenick

Known to the wise, Abraham, Buddha, Confucius, and Jesus understood the underlying connectedness of all humanity. Their admonitions to us contain high awareness of our human interdependence.

So when you think about it, you start to discover that all accomplishment, all achievement, all success, all progress that we as human beings have experienced is a result of our interdependence with others! A tremendous amount of support surrounds us in all areas of our lives; our families, our friends, our business colleagues, our partnerships, our educators, our children, our community, our state, our country, our world are visible support structures.

While the list of this interdependent support goes on, as individuals we often fail to realize that independence is a direct result of our interdependence and cooperation with others. We cannot truly become independent without the help of others!

How do we achieve independence? We must learn to ask for this help!

Independence is achieved through interdependent associations when people are united together to support each other: mentoring, coaching, sharing resources and referrals, working together toward common objectives, and helping in numerous ways. There are endless examples of how our interdependence affects each of us every day. While for many of us there is a higher force providing invisible support, allow me to go ahead and provide examples of invisible support from our everyday environment.

Before we wake up in the morning, there?s someone at the electric company making sure our lights will go on when we flip the switch. The water company pumps and stores water waiting for our beckoning call at the faucet. Farmers and truckers are growing and transporting food products to our local grocer who in turn, makes these products available to our community, our families and to us. Oil companies are drilling oil from around the world and shipping the oil to our neighborhoods allowing us the freedom to drive our cars when and where we choose.

There are countless more examples that demonstrate that almost every action we take throughout our day has visible and invisible support structures of interdependent relationships.

One of the central features of relationships then is our awareness of interdependence. We move from seeing ourselves as separate from one another, to seeing ourselves as connected and interdependent with one another.

Interdependence?.Dependence?.Independence?..Interdependence

A process of interdependence allows us, as individuals to be STRONG enough to be dependent when new behaviors, new skills, and new learning are required. When we are able to do this in an interdependent world, we move toward independence and self-reliance.

When interdependent behavior is high, individuals are making connections continuously, providing help and asking for help. Individuals are connecting others to others?and therefore strengthening connections in a web of relationship that far exceeds you and me.

When independent behavior is high, individuals are focusing on their individual success and are more apt to be self sufficient and self-reliant. Overly independent, individuals may not make the connections they need to continue to grow personally and professionally or to contribute to the success of others.

When interdependence is practiced and embraced, independence is a natural product. Individuals are able to get needed support and better move in relationship with the world. Recognizing that there is a time for dependence allows us to move to full potential by first suspending our independence. For many of us, this is a very vulnerable place. Becoming vulnerable in all aspects of our lives will help us ask for the help we need, and to better move easily in and out of relationship as we develop new and untested processes.

Fostering an interdependent environment creates an incredible web of support that is transformative to one?s life and to the world!

Interdependence Unleashed

Consider this three-part process that moves us more deeply into strengthening interdependent relationships.

Cooperative relating is the integration of independence and cooperation.
Mutual dependence takes place when we embrace this in our thinking and interactions: I need you and you need me. We act or work together, cooperating to achieve what both parties need/want. We own collectively, and share in the risks and the benefits, or experience the joy of helping another reach another level. In a truly cooperative relationship, this basic dynamic is extended repeatedly. Cooperative partners bring to light what is possible together.
Fostering an interdependent environment creates an incredible web of support that is transformative!
Summary

This strategy helps reinforce the awareness that we do not come to any situation alone. We never have, and we never will. Visible and invisible support systems are all around us. We help others and we are helped by others. Understanding this, we are better able to look at each other in a way that is relational, experience joy and satisfaction, identify what we need in a given situation, and better help and support another. We see how our interdependence strengthens the ability to be independent. Interdependence ultimately results in liberation: the ability to be self sufficient, and to contribute to the world. The next strategy will help you focus your attention and intention on purposeful listening with heart and mind.

Per chi segue il blog questo termine dovrebbe ormai essere familiare. Si tratta della particolare tecnica che consiste nello scattare tante fotografie ad alta risoluzione ad intervalli regolari, normalmente con lunghi tempi di esposizione, e montarle poi in un unico filmato.

La sensazione è quella di volare letteralmente al di sopra del nostro Pianeta.

OH MY!) - Here's what happens - when you are willing - to PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE and PRACTICE some more - (this is called persistence) you begin to develop the magical quality of PATIENCE - allowing things to unfold in their OWN time - including YOU and your business. Part of the work of a Passion-preneur is the deep development of this patience muscle. You have been STRUCK THROUGH THE HEART and you have deep burning desire to serve the world in the highest ways possible to bring your gifts to the table, to help those you are here to serve and to joyfully co-create magic, miracles and money with your entrepreneurship! And yet...

There are SO many pieces of this ART of running a business - that sometimes you can trip, fall and get deeply discouraged. Here is where the practice comes in handy - one of my favorite practices is to become DEEPLY aware and just NOTICE when I've lost the fire in my belly and the flame in my heart for the work that I know I've been born to do. When that happens as a PRACTICE - it's time to take some time away from the work - and to make a retreat where you can re-kindle the flame and come back into right relationship with your business and fuel yourself to continue to persist in bringing your gifts in to the world in positive, productive and profitable ways.

It can be challenging to have a HUGE vision and then to realize that you are not going to INSTANTLY MANIFEST it! Spirit gives you these big visions as opportunities to grow - inside yourself and inside your business. Cultivating that patience muscle is a way to hone and refine your Spirit. When you wait for something - and when you take your time to carefully and mindfully and patiently craft something - then you will be creating lasting value in the world - and you will be (EXACTLY ON TIME) richly rewarded for it!

There are so many parts to a successful business - and the journey to success is one that is filled with a huge variety of challenges that you must face, apply your skill to and overcome. For many evolving entrepreneurs the discovery of your passionate purpose is just the beginning - there is so much to learn, so much to synthesize and then so much to integrate before finally putting all those parts together into a viable, sustainable, thriving enterprise that is the carrying vessel for your accumulated wisdom and knowledge.

I have been in the space myself of having been called into a BIG vision - the creation of a big Telesummit event - I've figured out why it's called a Summit! - Because like climbing a high mountain peak the creating and delivery of this event has been quite a journey - there have been a lot of ditches, some crevasses, a few slippery slopes, a lot of strategizing, some muscling through, and the peak at this point is ALMOST but NOT QUITE in sight!

How to stay the course? Practice - everyday - I have a yoga practice and I've also been called even more deeply into my own energetic practices as well as mindset work - the most valuable of which has been "STAY IN TODAY". Persist - just keep moving - put one foot in front of the other, step by step you make steady progress and finally PATIENCE - this has been a big life long quality that I've been cultivating. The harvest will arrive - in it's own time - you don't see the farmer planting a seed in the field and then going out the next day and looking for the fruit of the vine. Breathing is a great way to encourage patience and discourage anxiety and fear from creeping in when you wonder if you are ever going to make it to the peak or if you are going to go slipping away and crash and burn in a devastating heap! Just keep breathing.

A bordo della capsula Russa Soyuz TMA-06M i tre astronauti sono atterrati nelle steppe del Kazakistan intorno alle ore 11:10 pm EDT di Venerdì Scorso, corrispondenti qui in Italia alle ore 05:10 di Sabato 16 Marzo.

Asking the Right Questions

There are many ways to get the right answer but only if you know the right question. The great motivational speaker Anthony Robbins had this to say on the subject: "Quality questions create a quality life. Successful people ask better questions, and as a result, they get better answers."

In our everyday lives and too often in the workplace we ask the wrong question and we certainly tend to focus on quantity versus quality when it comes to asking questions. There may indeed be no "stupid" questions but there are questions that can help get closer to the truth and others which pull you far, far away.

In general there are two types of questions. There are questions that seek to learn and questions that seek to judge or get a person to lean our way in an argument or dispute. Judging and leaning questions are really looking to assign blame, defend an already held position or move another person closer to our point of view. Learning questions however are actually looking for new information and facts and sharing responsibility to resolve or improve a situation.

Another way to look at questions is to categorize them as powerful or power- draining questions. Powerful or empowering questions might be like what might best work for you in this situation or when are you most effective? Power-draining questions might be what went wrong here or how could this have happened? You can see how one set or style of questions might produce a completely different answer and result.

If you really want to improve a situation or get information that can correct a problem it is much better to ask a question in a way that allows the person to actually give you something to work with rather than retreating behind the cone of silence or even worse giving you incorrect information. Many times this means asking the question in a neutral way that shows you are not on a witch hunt. That might mean prefacing your question with a comment like "I'm not blaming anybody.. I just want to know what went wrong." Then ask your question and watch as the tension drains from the other person's face.

The other major thing to focus on in getting the right answer is to actually listen to the person who is trying to answer your question. We have two ears and one mouth for a reason. Ask your question as neutrally or powerfully as you can and then wait and wait and wait for the answer. Don't ask another question while you're waiting. Don't try to pre-empt their answer. Sometimes people are just thinking or maybe they are trying to decide if they can trust you.

Ask the right question, in the right way, and wait for the response. You just might get the right answer.

I am a strong believer in success coming from proper information and execution. Many people struggle with the idea of success for the lack of ONE thing. The very thing that keeps so many people from succeeding is incredibly simple and when I tell you what it is, you will find it simple to the point of almost being silly. However, I find that the most profound things in life are actually the most simple things that we an adhere to and DO.

OK here it is: Most people are not successful simply because they have not had an example of success. They simple do not know what success looks like.

Isn?t that interesting? I think its very interesting.

So I am going to list and discuss 3 of the major components for people who have not had an example of success. These are things that successful people do, if they are conscious of it or not. Every success you see is based in these 3 things. It doesn?t matter WHAT success you are looking for, they all live in these principles. Don?t worry, they are also very simple.

1. Unequivocal Belief In Yourself
This is certainly easier said than done, but it is certainly extremely important in you journey for success of any type. No master piano player learns how to play the piano without believing they will eventually learn how fully master playing the piano. Records are broken almost every day because the record breaker believes and sees the record as immaterial, nothing to focus on. But they focus on themselves and breaking the record, and they do. It isn?t a new concept but it is one that we forget. You MUST learn how to believe in yourself in being able accomplish ANYTHING, no matter how hard it may seem, or how hard it may ACTUALLY be. We are all greater than our circumstances, but we have to be constantly reminded of it. So here is your reminder, Believe in yourself with all the power you can muster, and trust me, that is a lot!

2. Conscious decision to succeed
Who knows the famous quote "A Journey of 1000 miles starts with one step"? Yes I know it is a bit cliche at this point, but the principle that it supports is universal and unending and also un-clicheable, yes I just made up and word and yes you can use it! But the point is this: Even before you MAKE that first step on your new journey, you have to do something in a secret place that no one else knows of and has no map to. That is your mind. You must in YOUR mind, decide to take the first step into whatever it is you want to accomplish, even if that is first learning how to approach your journey. Your foot will not move to take that first step until you decide you want to take that step. That will lead you into doing more and trying more. Have confidence in yourself and take steps. But you must have made the decision to succeed to even begin to try to succeed. The decision is the greatest power that man possesses. If you want to be more, do more, or have more, simply decide to experience it first, and you will be lead to success. It is not a promise of right now, but it is a promise.

3. Continuous Learning
Do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT ever stop learning, EVER.
The only thing that keeps a person from being ever successful is lack of knowledge. If you want to argue that then I pose this question. If you knew how to make a million dollars right now this very moment. Would you? Even if you lie and say no, the answer is YES! You see we as humans suffer from being complacent because we think someone ELSE has the inside track, the secret formula, etc. This is partly true, but mostly the information or track that they have access to is NOT secret. It?s just in a damn BOOK! Ha! We often forget that just about all knowledge of from all time as been recorded in some form in a book. Those books are available to you. We have to make a conscious decision to pick up a book on a subject and pour through it until have a good idea of what to expect. Even better, we should pick up 10-15+ books on the subject and gain as much perspective on it as possible. This is where power lives. We desire ever more in our lives but we often do not desire the very thing that can grant us our ever valid desires. You can learn how to do just about anything with the proper set of books. This has been true since the book was invented. Desire for success comes from the desire to learn about the success we are attempting. Don?t even try anything without learning about it first. It will benefit you greatly, and embarrass you a lot less! So continue to learn and continue to remember to learn. Everything is learn-able.

La revolución del Kiri, el árbol que puede salvar al mundo


En Texas están utilizando un árbol que podría purificar un suelo infértil y dejarlo listo para ser utilizado en cualquier tipo de cultivo. Y no sólo eso, sino que este árbol absorbe 10 veces más dióxido de carbono que cualquier otro árbol, y arroja mucho más oxígeno. ¿Qué árbol? El Kiri.

El árbol Kiri, originario de China, es también conocido como árbol Emperatriz o Paulownia tormentosa. Suele crecer hasta unos 27 metros de altura, con troncos de entre 7 y 20 metros de diámetros. Pero se caracteriza por sus grandes hojas, que llegan a los 40 centímetros de ancho.
Es un árbol popular como ornamento, así se hicieron famosos en Japón, y desde allí entraron en Europa en 1834. Pero lo que lo hace tan distintivo es su supervivencia a diferente inclemencias. Por ejemplo sobreviven al fuego, ya que pueden regenerar sus raíces y vasos de crecimiento de forma rápida. También tolera la polución, y no exige suelos fértiles.
Es por esta razón que se la utiliza como “planta pionera”, o sea que el kiri es un árbol que puede proveer un buen abono a una tierra previamente poco fértil. Sus hojas son ricas en nitrógeno (buen abono) y las raíces previenen la erosión.  Como si fuera poco, crece muy rápido.
Pero lo malo del Kiri es que cuando tiene que competir con otros árboles más altos que le dan sombra no prospera.
En Texas ha comenzado un proyecto llamado Kiri Revolution (La Revolución Kiri) que consiste en plantar un millón de kiris para así dejar el suelo purificado y lograr que recupere sus propiedades. El proyecto es llevado a cabo por Chris Sanders y Brittany Turner que no sólo eligieron al kiri por sus propiedades fértiles sino porque también absorbe diez veces más dióxido de carbono que cualquier otro árbol en el mundo, y como si fuera poco emite grandes cantidades deoxígeno. O sea que es ideal para la lucha contra el cambio climático.
Texas tiene el suelo, el aire y el agua muy contaminada. Por eso Sanders y Turner eligieron al kiri, que puede prosperar en suelos y aguas contaminadas, al tiempo que purifica la tierra en la que crece.
Otra ventaja es que el kiri es el árbol de crecimiento más rápido del planeta. En apenas ocho años, una semilla de kiri llega al tamaño de un roble de 40 años. En sólo un año llega a los cuatro metros y medio de altura.
Chris Sanders y Brittany Turner están experimentando, por ahora. Prueban las mejores cepas de kiri, y toda su información la suben a su sitio de MySpace, para compartir la información con quien quiera aprovecharla.
Como si fuera poco sus hojas pueden utilizarse para hacer un rico té, y al parecer sus flores, de rico aroma, atraen a las abejas y generan una miel más rica, eso dicen.
El kiri es el árbol del futuro, se dice en muchos medios. Pero creo que es el árbol del presente, ahora mismo lo podemos aprovechar.  Pueden ser de gran ayuda contra el calentamiento global y contra la desertificación.
